Still Standing earth "You promised me Lord"We arrived on slave ships. My labor was used to build the United States of America. I fought to free this country and then I had to fight for my own freedom. I survived and endured lynchings, racism, segregation, the flooding of our communities with drugs, mass incarceration, gentrification, police brutality and more. I paid my dues to be recognized as an American and for equality. My scars and bruises are the receipts. Yet through it all. here I am.
